Modeling Corrosion Phenomena and Corrosion Protection Systems with COMSOL Multiphysics® Free

The COMSOL Multiphysics® software platform, together with the add-on Corrosion Module, provides dedicated features for modeling corrosion processes. Various physical phenomena are considered, such as species transport mechanisms in the electrolyte and electrochemical reactions occurring at electrolyte-metal interfaces. The software includes functionality to facilitate the modeling of corrosion protection devices, such as systems based on sacrificial anodes or impressed current.
