Greetings, corrosion community,
We would like to announce two “new” categories of papers welcomed for submission in Corrosion.
Our newest additions are Corrosion Communications and Scientific Investigations of Field Corrosion Events.
Corrosion Communications are short manuscripts, limited to 2 to 4 pages in published form. They should address a unique, novel topic, or a “breakthrough” related to a long-standing, vexing issue. Such topics are usually time-sensitive. These attributes, which the authors can describe in their submission cover letter, can help justify the urgency for rapid review, publication, and dissemination. These papers are largely reviewed internally by our outstanding board of editors to enable rapid feedback to authors within several weeks. Successful submissions will be fast-tracked for publication in the next possible issue.
Scientific Investigations of Field Corrosion Events enable authors to now submit papers to Corrosion focusing on corrosion damage on actual components in the field. Manuscripts sought must contain (a) well-characterized corrosion damage and (b) substantial scientific investigations to provide a scientific basis for understanding the corrosion processes governing the damage reported in (a). Therefore, these papers must be supported by either field-testing of well-controlled specimens, laboratory experiments, and/or computational modeling that shed light on the scientific mechanisms governing the damage process.
Our six existing paper categories continue to enjoy prompt, high-quality reviews and rapid times to publication, including early “epublication” on-line. We always encourage original science and engineering research papers, contributed and invited critical reviews of corrosion science and engineering, special issues on focused topics, topical research symposium papers, technical notes, as well as W.R. Whitney and F.N. Speller Award papers. We also welcome special papers and sections at the discretion of the technical editor.
When considering publishing in Corrosion, please know that Corrosion is fully citable and available online, usually weeks before the print version is available. Corrosion articles are searchable by major on-line search engines such as Web of Science™. Papers available through our Web site can be accessed back to 1981. This soon will be expanded to 1971 to make papers available to the readership.
The journal is steered by an internationally recognized editorial board and wonderful staff who will guide you through the publication process while maintaining a high standard of quality for papers accepted. Notably, ten out of ten papers recently selected by the NACE International Awards Committee went to authors who published in Corrosion.
Be a part of the 67 years of milestones in the corrosion community and receive worldwide recognition for your research.
