It Appears from discussions with members of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers that many are not clear as to the organization, objectives, functions and activities of the Technical Practices Committee. Perhaps a general review and discussion of the subject will not only help to clarify this existing situation but might also assist in promoting further expansion of TPC activities.

The evolution and growth of TPC has been quite rapid as indicated by a brief review of its existence to date. The forebearer of TPC was the first NACE technical committee on condensate well corrosion appointed by the board of directors in 1944. The importance and significance of technical committee activities to the well-being and future growth of NACE was recognized early and in 1945 the board of directors created the Technical Committee as one of the standing committees of the Association.
