As covered in the original National Association of Corrosion Engineers’ by-laws, the Regional Management Committee consisted of at least five members and a chairman, all appointed by the Board of Directors of the Association. The function of this committee was to help in the organization of Regional Divisions and to prepare and assist in the execution of policies, activities and plans as well as coordinate the work of such Divisions.
The first committe, under the chairmanship of Mr. George McComb, ably performed this service and was useful in formulating model by-laws for the guidance of Regions and the supplying of valuable advice and counsel. It was recognized that the Regions were all important in developing Sections from which NACE could anticipate the future growth of the organization.
With completion of the Regional organizations this phase of the Committee’s activities became less important. At the same time the growth of local...
