Stainless Steels for the Bottoms of Tanks Containing Sour Crude Oil

C. P. LARRABEE—Presently in charge of the laboratory and field corrosion testing work on structural, low alloy and stainless steels for the United States Steel Company. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and was employed by the Research and Development Laboratory of United States Steel after ten years work at the National Bureau of Standards. He is a member of the Board of Directors of NACE representing corporate members.

WALTER F. ROGERS—A native Texan, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a chemical engineering degree in 1926. He began work as a chemical engineer for the Gulf Refining Company, Port Arthur, Texas, but transferred to the Gulf Production Company, Houston, in 1927. There he studied oil field and pipe line corrosion problems under a fellowship of the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research. He received the professional degree from Pittsburgh in 1934. In 1948 he was made chief chemist of the Houston Production Division Chemical Laboratory of Gulf.
