Experimental results are reported on the evaluation of polarization resistance, the variation of corrosion currents, the variation of corrosion potential, microhardness, and the quantitative determination of inclusion populations in pipeline steels. The results are discussed in terms of low, medium, and high sensitivity of steels to hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) and the role of inclusions on HIC of linepipe steels.
