A novel method was proposed to mitigate the corrosion of steel rebar inside concrete. In this patented method, a rebar was protected galvanically by attaching a zinc wire along the length of the rebar. The zinc wire acted as a sacrificial anode when the rebar embedded inside the concrete was exposed to corrosive substances such as moisture and road salt.
