In the September 1993 issue of Corrosion (Vol. 49, No. 9, p. 755-758), the paper “Adherence of Sulfide Mineral Layers Produced by Corrosion of Copper Alloys” by M.B. McNeil, A.L. Amos, and T.L. Woods reported values for redox potentials of the experimental solutions as the potentials developed by the platinum redox electrode without correction for the potential developed by the reference electrode. To represent the oxygen reduction potential of the solutions relative to the normal hydrogen electrode, 240 mV must be added to all redox potentials listed in the text and in Table 1.
