The protective capacity of perfluoropolyalkylether functional derivatives with polymerization degree n = 3 – 19 contained in rust-preventive materials on perfluoropolyalkylether basis has been investigated. By means of a linear mathematical model, the effect of different structural parameters of rust inhibitor molecules on their protective efficiency toward low-carbon steel has been studied. Equations in natural variables have been derived with a high degree of convergency with experimental data. The contributions of the main structural parameters to the protective efficiency of the compounds under investigation have been calculated.
