So far as the methods for evaluation of corrosion inhibitors in acids are concerned, there are mainly three kinds of methods, that is, the weight loss method1 and the linear polarization method2,3 as well as the method4 for linear extrapolation of polarization curves. These methods are all used widely and successfully in evaluation of corrosion inhibitors. However, they cannot be applied to determine quantitatively the type of inhibitor. In order to remedy the weak point of the methods mentioned above, this article attempts to develop a new method not only for rapid evaluation of the efficiency of a corrosion inhibitor, but also for quantitative determination of the type of corrosion inhibitor.
