Expressions are given for the current used in the repassivation of wires during and after straining. They are compared with experimental current-time curves obtained for AISI 304 stainless steel (SS) electrodes strained in chloride solutions of pH 2 under constant potential. Predictions based on the theoretical equations are discussed with reference to previous work.
