FOR THE USE of Corrosion Engineering Section of The International Nickel Co., Inc., a file is kept of the numerical results of corrosion tests made by Inco, or by others as reported in technical literature. All these data are recorded on standard forms as illustrated in Figure I. Here all the test conditions are described at the top of the form, while the test results, converted to standard units for sake of easy comparison of results of different tests, are recorded at the bottom of the form. Note that the results include weight losses and also the depth of pitting as it occurs on the main surface of the specimens or under the Bakelite insulating spacers (crevice corrosion).
