Among the objectives of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, two appear to have most promise of early accomplishment. One is the formation of local sections, under the various regional organizations, where the majority of those interested in the control of corrosion throughout the country, may meet to exchange experience and technical information. The other is the work of technical committees to function in the study of specific corrosion problems and make available the results of research and field experience to those interested.

Local sections are usually formed as a result of meetings called to discuss corrosion problems and exchange experience informally. When any such group contains a minimum of ten active members of NACE, it may, after effecting such organization as is deemed necessary and not inconsistent with the regional by-laws, apply to the Regional organization under which it is located, for recognition as a section.
