Mr. M. E. Parker’s application of the attenuation formulas to a practical case is very interesting, particularly because the measured points come very close to his calculated curve, even though the pipeline traversed soils of widely different resistivities. We have observed similarly close adherence to the theoretical values on our underground cables, but have not encountered such wide variations in soil characteristics as Mr. Parker describes.
