Your committee presents below its third progress report on the electrolytic corrosion of steel in concrete which was prepared by the research staff of the Engineering Division. This investigation, which was authorized in 1943, is being continued during the present year with an appropriation of $1000 granted by the Association of American Railroads for 1945.

The study of electrolysis of steel in concrete was assigned to the research staff of the Engineering Division of the Association of American Railroads in 1943. Random Ferguson, electrical engineer, has been in charge of the tests and of preparing the report, under the direction of. G. M. Magee, research engineer.
