Describes new uses of tetrafluoroethylene flurocarbon resins as piston rings and rod packings on compressors and in wire overbraided flexible hose. Briefly outlines development of these piston tings hade of resins blended with various materials such as glass fibers graphite and carbon black. Explains advantages of piston rings of TEE resins and gives several ease histories showing their performance. Also describes applications of TFE resin hose overbialded with wire in steam and chemical service. Case histories ate given to show the hose’s performance under specific environments. 6.6.8,7.1
