Gives description of components used for, automatically controlled cathodic protection system on U. S. Navy ship using platinum-palladium alloy anodes, silver-silver chloride reference electrodes. Briefly gives principles of automatic operation by which hull potential voltage is maintained at pre-set level. Also includes discussion of stray current and mooring problems encountered. Explains that system operated satisfactorily, protecting the ship hull from corrosion even though coating system had failed and left bare hull areas exposed. 5.2.1
