A discussion is given of survey methods used for the detection of galvanic “hot spots” along bare steel pipe lines, correlation of these data with actual failures, and galvanic anode installation. Results of the survey correlated well with corrosion leak experience and with visual inspection of the pipe lines. Two case histories are reported.
