The proposed reorganization of Technical Group Committee T-1 (Corrosion in Oil and Gas Well Equipment) was approved at the Dallas Conference. This reorganization was considered necessary to overcome repetition and duplication of meetings and committee effort.
Eight unit committees were formed in the T-1 reorganization. Scopes of these units and officers elected for four of them are given below.
Chairman of T-1 is W. C. Koger of Cities Service Oil Co., Bartlesville, Okla. Vice chairman is J. A. Caldwell of Humble Oil & Refining Co., Houston, Texas.
Committee T-1 is concerned with the broad subject of oil and gas well equipment corrosion. The committee proposes to gather and compile data on the environmental cause of this corrosion and on methods of controlling this problem. Where possible, the committee also is attempting to promote correlated cooperative tests of materials in connection with the various problems.
