The Technical Practices Committees of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers were organized about eight years ago, although the forerunner group. Technical Practices Committee 1 on Condensate Well Corrosion, was formed two years earlier. New committees were added from time to time until they numbered 19 covering a wide variety of interests. Concurrent with this rapid growth it became evident that some procedure of uniform conduct was essential to facilitate control. The need for a procedure guide was emphasized by the fact the chairman of the committee was being involved in a greater and greater burden of detail and was required to make many important decisions single handed.

Since the 1953 annual NACE meeting in Chicago a group composed of W. F. Rogers, Aaron Wachter, A. B. Campbell and H. W. Schmidt has actively considered a number of proposals concerning reorganization of the technical committees. The Technical Practices Committee Organization...
