Organized by the WaterJet Technology Association (WJTA), the 2018 WJTA-IMCA Expo served as a forum to improve safety, technology, and trade by connecting contractors, asset owners, researchers, academicians, and suppliers.
The event was held from November 1-2, 2018, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
2018 Event Recap
Approximately 1,000 participants from 33 countries attended from numerous sectors, including industrial, environmental, and municipal waterblast cleaning and field services; industrial and municipal vacuuming; coating removal and surface preparation; concrete removal; and hydroexcavation.
New to the 2018 event was the inclusion of additional equipment and services, such as pigging/decoking and catalyst services.
WJTA noted increased involvement at this year’s show from asset owners, particularly within petrochemicals and refining. According to event organizers, asset owners are becoming increasingly interested in the waterblasting industry, and understanding the technology allows facilities to achieve greater safety, cleanliness, and operate more efficiently.

The 2019 WJTA-IMCA Expo will be held from November 12-13, also in New Orleans, Louisiana.
