“NEXT 2018 builds on the success of the 2017 AIASF annual conference and its focus on the design community’s ability to advance issues of social justice and equitable access,” remarks AIASF Executive Director Jennifer Jones, CAE, IOM. “The New Urban Agenda is a bold roadmap to promote sustainable, regenerative, and equitable growth in our cities, and is extremely relevant to the environmental and economic challenges we face in the Bay Area.”
AIASF invites experts to submit their ideas for presentations focused on the trends, opportunities, and challenges facing design innovation, technology, and business practice, and how building and design professionals might leverage the New Urban Agenda to ensure equitable access and density in the Bay Area. For a more detailed agenda and suggested topics, and to submit a proposal online visit www.aiasf.org/NEXT through Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
“San Francisco is recognized as a leading hub for innovative design leaders and we’re curious how the profession will grow its relevance as it relates to the New Urban Agenda,” says Rosa Sheng, AIA, 2018 AIASF President. “This is our opportunity to lead sustainable and equitable development, and I look forward to leveraging ideas that will impact the next generation of the architecture and design professions.”
