Pond is pleased to announce the hiring of B.J. Bridges as program director for the Woodlands/North Houston, Texas office. As program manager, Bridges manages the day-to-day operations of the office, including increasing Pond’s presence in the midstream oil and gas market, and growing this regional office through new client relationships and adding to its staff of engineers.
With 30 years of engineering and operations management experience for several high-profile engineering companies, Bridges has a proven track record of building regional and satellite offices, through developing teams that consistently meet and exceed objectives, anticipated revenue and overall strategic goals.
Diversity is what makes Bridges such a valuable addition for Pond, as his background not only consists of operations and engineering project management for oil and gas, but a background that includes reaching new sales through client relationships in the oil and gas sector, wood products and chemical sectors. With the addition of his superior project management skills, Bridges is a proven leader.
“The position fit with what I have accomplished in the past,” said Bridges. “My expertise includes being able to come into a regional office, start at the grass-roots level, and help establish and build that office through understanding the technical side of engineering, and through my people skills in hiring and mentoring the right engineers.”
He explained further, “Our priority at the North Houston office is to get deep into the midstream oil and gas and then also diversify into other industries like the wood industry, chemical industry and possibly the Carbon black industry.”
Bridges graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, and his career trajectory, after graduation, led him to manage million-dollar budgets, establish project management groups and growing the size of regional offices around Texas and throughout the southeast.
“It’s a game-changer now that B.J. has joined our team,” said Lorraine Green, Senior Vice President. “His knowledge of the Texas midstream market will help us deliver superior service to our ever-increasing client base.”
All that Pond offers to its engineers and management seemed to fit with Bridges’ goals and values. “Being around for 52 years, Pond has an entrepreneurial approach with its employees, which is very encouraging because at this [management] level they expect you to do a job, and they give you the latitude to do it,” he emphasized.
