Wage and salary workers in the construction industry had an unemployment rate of 8.5 percent in January 2016. This was 3.2 percentage points higher than the rate for all private nonagricultural wage and salary workers (5.3 percent). The unemployment rate for construction has decreased by 16.2 percentage points since January 2010.
