Visitors to the annual PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Pharma EXPO (Sept. 28–30, 2015; Las Vegas Convention Center) will have the opportunity to learn more about the critical role a floor can play in a HACCP Food Safety Management Plan.
Taking to the stage, as part of the Food Safety Summit Resource Center, Flowcrete Americas’ Vice President of Sales, Mike Dzialo will guide food manufacturers and facilities managers through the different floor characteristics required to uphold excellent hygiene standards as well as minimize both contamination and safety risks.
Returning once again to the Pack EXPO show, the Food Safety Summit Resource Center brings together experts in food production and food safety for a series of educational speaking opportunities.
Subject matter experts provide information focused on best practices and recent advances on the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) as well as important topics including HACCP.
Flowcrete Americas’ seminar entitled, ‘Exploring the Role of the Floor within a HACCP Food Safety Plan’ will be taking place in the Upper Hall South of the Convention Center on booth S-7632 at 11am.
This follows the news that Flowcrete Americas, part of Flowcrete Group, has been awarded international HACCP certification for its popular antimicrobial cementitious urethane flooring line, Flowfresh.
Flowfresh is a non porous, non tainting and phthalate-free hard flooring surface which is typically trowelled or slurry broadcast to deliver a seamless finish that is resistant to a wide range of chemical, solvents and food by-products as well as intermittent temperatures of up to 250°F – making it ideal for facilities undertaking hot water wash-down and steam cleaning practices.
The Flowfresh range contains a natural silver-ion based antimicrobial additive, Polygiene®, which is included within the resin matrix to protect the finished surface from degradation caused by microorganisms and it can also be adjusted to meet varying slip resistance requirements in both dry and wet areas in order to minimize slip risks.
The Flowfresh range contains systems ranging from 1/8” – ½” thick with specialist formulations designed to tackle the service criteria found in different areas of the food processing plants from wet and dry food preparation and slaughter areas, through to walk in refrigerators, packaging lines and storage facilities.
Flowcrete Americas’ Flowfresh range comes complete with a coving option – to ensure a hygienic transition between the floor and wall - and all systems in the range can be graded to drains.
Supplementary materials to grade the concrete slab in preparation for the installation of drainage channels as well provide a hygienic seal coating for walls and cater for more decorative floor options in breakout areas are also available from Flowcrete Americas.
