GAF,
North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, is honored to have been selected
by GreenWizard as the Category Leader for Roofing in its selection of
manufacturers that achieved outstanding performance in green building. A
Category Leader is a company that has made the most significant progress in
supporting the needs and requirements of both the building industry and
building owners/occupants with respect to product transparency and
sustainability initiatives.
GreenWizard
narrowed its extensive list of manufacturers down to the top 25 based on
activity in GreenWizard (how many times products were added to libraries and
selected for projects) as well as on activity of the manufacturers with regard
to overall sustainability initiatives. These top 25 were then evaluated by
design and construction professionals who voted for those they felt showed the
highest sustainability commitment.
From
there, each category (roofing, flooring, paint, communications, etc.) had two
award recipients: “Category Leader” and "Top Performer." Those
selected as the "Category Leader" were the standout company in their
category based on their commitment, contribution, and disclosure of information
to support a better-built environment. “Top Performers” were recognized in
their category for their efforts in product and/or corporate sustainability
initiatives.

Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, which is being held from October
22 – 24 in New Orleans.
