Taking place at the Morial
Convention Center from October 22-24, Greenbuild is the world's largest
conference and expo of its type and will bring together industry leaders,
experts and frontline professionals from across the globe, all with the
combined goal of achieving sustainable building in their everyday work.
This year’s event will see a
total of 23,000 attendees descend upon New Orleans for the prestigious event
and over 750 top suppliers and manufacturers will be exhibiting over the three
days. This makes Greenbuild an unrivalled opportunity to find out about the
latest green building equipment, products, services and technologies available
to today's market.
The systems on display at Flowcrete
Americas’ booth (1857) have been developed to provide the construction industry
with flooring materials that will lower the environmental impact of a building
site without any loss to its functionality or aesthetics.
The Managing Director of
Flowcrete Americas, Dave McNeece, said: “We’re very eager to attend the
Greenbuild expo as Flowcrete Americas knows that sustainability is going to be
a key part of the building industry’s future.
“As a strong supporter of
green building, Flowcrete Americas is committed to a sustainable corporate
philosophy. This is exemplified by our membership of the U.S Green Building
Council and the environmentally friendly practices we have put in place to
offset the carbon footprint of our manufacturing and installation processes.”
Flowcrete Americas has
designed its systems to help specification professionals and developers
construct buildings that meet LEED® standards. The importance of using
environmentally friendly materials was exemplified by a recent McGraw Hill
Construction report, which estimated that by 2015 the value of 40-48% of new
non-residential constructions would be green, which equates to a $120-145
billion opportunity.
A significant part of
Flowcrete Americas’ environmental credentials is that it has worked hard to
restrict the use of toxic components in its products. This has been achieved in
part through utilizing water-based and solvent-free flooring technologies to
reduce the emission of harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the
atmosphere. In addition, following the Environmental Protection Agency’s
concerns about the hazardous effects of certain substances to the human health,
Flowcrete Americas’ cementitious urethane systems are phthalate free and its
epoxies are nonyl phenol free.
This commitment to minimizing
the environmental damage of the construction industry extends throughout
Flowcrete Americas manufacturing processes, for example by implementing
practices that reduces the amount of packaging waste.
The resin flooring
specialists know that environmentally friendly doesn’t mean more expensive and
that often the client will achieve cost-savings from the improved efficiency of
eco-accredited systems. For Flowcrete’s customers this means a cost reduction
per unit manufactured and transported thanks to the streamlined packaging
process, while the durability of its floors reduces the environmental and
financial impacts of frequent repairs or early renovations.
At the flooring experts stand
visitors to Greenbuild can find out more about how Flowcrete Americas’ wide
range of solutions for large-scale commercial and industrial environments can
provide high-quality floors that help the project to qualify for LEED®
credits.
