The
Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announces the winners of a
promotion it held to raise awareness for AEM’s industry-consensus safety
materials program.
AEM
conducted the promotion as part of the safety outreach from its exhibit booths
at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 and the 2014 AED Summit & CONDEX trade show.
Hundreds of
attendees registered, and the winners received iPads and iTunes gift cards to
download AEM safety manual eBooks. The winners were:
- John Mason, assistant director of construction training, International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Washington, D.C.
- Tom Viskniskki, vice president sales, Sullivan-Palatek Compressors, Michigan City, Indiana
Mason noted
that AEM safety materials are included in IUOE training programs, and Viskniskki
said AEM safety manuals offer a valuable service to Sullivan-Palatek.
“The IUOE
is training the next generation of heavy equipment operators,” Mason said.
“Currently, we have over 6,000 registered apprentices at our 100 training sites
in the U.S. and Canada. By integrating the AEM materials into our training
curriculum, we know that these Operating Engineers will be among the safest,
most productive skilled-tradesmen in the world.”
“Sullivan-Palatek
currently utilizes AEM safety manuals in conjunction with their sales of
portable air compressors and air tools,” said Viskniskki. "This
is a valuable service provided by AEM."
All AEM
safety manuals, videos and related safety and training products are available
online at the AEM Store (http://shop.aem.org). Some safety materials
are offered in downloadable files or in DVD format. AEM members receive
discounts on select materials.
AEM also
maintains a Pictorial
Database developed to assist designers and technical illustrators in
communicating effective safety messages through the use of consistent
industry-recognized pictorial representations.
