The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) recently announced the signing of a formal agreement with the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE).
The agreement establishes a strategic alliance dedicated to advancing materials protection, naval engineering, and the resiliency of maritime systems.
The agreement was signed by Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP, and ASNE leadership at U.S. Navy headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, USA. Also representing AMPP was Jennifer Merck, vice president of defense and civic infrastructure, and Helena Seelinger, CAE, chief of advocacy.
Other attendees included Elizabeth Bouchard, executive director of SNAME; Richard Mueller, president of SNAME; and Dr. David H. Lewis, senior vice president of maritime at Leidos.
SNAME is an internationally recognized nonprofit, professional society of individual members serving the maritime and offshore industries and their suppliers, while Leidos describes itself as a leading information technology partner for global governments.
As AMPP explains, this collaboration is aimed at uniting these leading organizations to support innovation, professional development, and mission success across both civilian and defense maritime sectors.
