An OSHA-compliant green non-drip mobile technology has been developed that can perform complete chemical and electrochemical surface treatments for coating bare surfaces and repairing coatings. The equipment and processes are based on a closed-loop technology that can perform complete surface treatments, including processes such as electrochemical cleaning and etching, anodizing, plating, sealing, passivation, and rinsing. The process is environmentally-friendly, and because it eliminates disassembly, reassembly, and routing through plating shops, it is typically far faster and cheaper than conventional tank processes. Presented in this paper are the equipment design and processes for this non-drip mobile technology for both large area operations, and local hot-spot repairs, as well as its contribution to greener surface repair alternatives.
